Parents advance to the edge of the circl from outside.
P “What is the name of the child”
Parent “XXXX”
P Then today we welcome XXXX to this circle. Much love to you”
Parents then pass three times deosil around the circle, Ending at the gatekeeper.
“We offer the fruit of our love to the Lady. May she watch over him/her as s/he grows”
Gatekeeper dips hand in the salt water and washes baby’s face. then hands baby to Priest/ess in the circle
P to the child “May the Creator smile upon you. May she guard and guide you through this life. May she help you to choose the right path. May she see that no harm shall befall you or others through you. I bid you welcome to the circle of life.
S/he passes the child clockwise around the circle where she is welcomed by each memeber of the circle-and passed back to the parents who have taken their places in the circle
P To the parents. “ I charge you both in the name of the Creator to lead this child with love through the highways and byways of life. Teach him/her the way of the craft so that he may learn to harm none. To honour and respect life. Teach him/her of the lord of the hunt and the lady of night, of this life. Of the before and the after. Tell the tales of the gods and the history of the craft Teach him/her to strive for the perfection of self that all desire, and when the time is right. Hope, but do not press that s/he will join with us and become truly one of the family of Mother Earth.”
